Surveillance IP Cameras for home

Now we will talk about new technology of surveillance, it is IP surveillance cameras for home, IP security camera connects directly to an IP network by wired or wireless means, providing live digital video for all kinds of surveillance and monitoring applications
An IP surveillance camera can be described as a camera and computer combined in one intelligent unit. It captures and sends live video directly over an IP network, enabling authorized users to locally or remotely view, store, and manage video over standard IP-based network infrastructure.

IP surveillance camera has its own IP address. It is connected to the network and has a built-in web server, FTP server, FTP client, e-mail client, alarm management, programmability, and much more. A network camera does not need to be connected to a PC; it operates independently and can be placed wherever there is an IP network connection

Why switch to IP surveillance camera-based system? Because of CCTV camera-based system have several drawbacks as compared to IP surveillance camera-based system. Some of these drawbacks are:

•Installation of CCTV surveillance camera is complicated and inefficient. Coaxial cable must be used for attaching each and every camera to the DVR. Connection must use coaxial cable from each camera to the DVR. One cable can transport video signals from only one camera at a time during the installation, and if two cameras are required, two cables will be needed, thus making expansion in the future quite difficult.
•Extra cables will be needed if audio or PTZ control signal is required.
•Signal is lost during conversion from sensor to coax cable and during transmission, and again at DVR during conversion from analog to digital video.
•Limitation of TV resolution is D1 (720x480 for NTSC and 720,576 for PAL); IP surveillance can achieve higher resolution than D1.
•Each camera can only send single source of video; IP surveillance has multiple streaming and accept multiple user login.
